Allergies and Essential oils

If you couldn't tell already this month we're starting to focus on allergies! Last week we introduced our supplement of the month - that was the D-Hist.

This week we're focusing on how Essential Oils can help with your allergy symptoms as well!

Seasonal allergies are caused by the body's inability to adapt to changes in the environment. While some of us may thrive with the onset of the spring season, it is also known for bringing on sneezing, watery eyes, swollen sinuses and discomfort for those who do not adapt easily. Essential oils with antihistamine, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergen properties can help reduce uncomfortable symptoms so that you can enjoy the changing seasons!

Here are some of  the recommended essential oils:
  • Peppermint
  • Lavender
  • Eucalyptus
  • Lemon
  • Breathe
HOW TO USE
Peppermint, lemon and lavender are cleansing oils, so diffusing these oils in your home on a regular basis will help to reduce pollen and allergens.

  • Try placing 1 drop each of peppermint, lavender and lemon directly on your tongue and then swish in your mouth for 10-20 seconds before swallowing for a decongestant gargle.
  • Put a drop of peppermint on either side of the temples to reduce the severity of headaches.
  • For skin rashes, apply lavender to the affected area for quick relief of symptoms.

We can order the introductory kits in the office which includes Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint! Just let us know!
