Back to School Time!

Yes, yes, we know. Where the heck did the summer go exactly?! We're asking ourselves the same question! No matter what it seems like each summer flies by fast than the last. School is right around the corner for a lot of us whether that means that we ourselves are going back to school or our family members and children are. If you've ever been a parent to grade school age children you know that the school year tends to bring home a lot of germs and potential for sickness. Are there ways to stay healthier now that the school year has started? Sure!  Check them out below.


1.
Develop a healthy and sustainable routine. 
This is easier said than done if you are a busy family with many activities to attend but it definitely helps when your routine is not too hard to keep up with. Constantly running and feeling behind is surly bound to cause you to crash and often times this crash manifests in the form of runny noise or a sore throat. 

2.
Sleep. Get. More. Sleep.
Branching off of a healthy routine you need to make sure you're making sleep a priority. Too often we as parents/adults we sacrifice sleep for one last chore or let's be real on more episode in our Netflix queue. Sleep is so important and is a topic we could write a blog post about alone (and we just might), but just know that sleep deprivation causes our brains to not think as rationally as we might of fully rested. 

3.
Eat Healthy meals. Make sure you load you and your families plates with lean proteins and LOTS of green veggies and fruits. Limit the processed sugar as that can be a culprit of suppressed immunity.  

4.
Stay Moving and Wash those hands. I combined these two because they are the normal ones everyone thinks of first. Exercise helps to keep you healthy and washing hands helps to not spread more germs.

and last but not least...

5.
Get adjusted! Adjustments help a body to stay functioning at it's highest potential. Regular care here with Dr. Casey dramatically has helped many people stay healthy and thriving. I know a lot of times people believe they have to be in pain to get adjusted but that couldn't be further from the truth. Maintenance chiropractic care is recommenced for all people including and especially children all the way up to the oldest person we know.
